“ Every song I write is about personal experiences, written in real-time.”
Singer-Songwriter, radio host, DJ, Performing Artist
Singer-songwriter Jasmine Canales has a Long Beach edge that is reflected in her unique blend of South Coast indie-pop with a touch of sultry jazz. Growing up in a musical household with 7 kids, where every member was a performer, Jasmine emerged as the youngest and began singing and writing for bands while in high school. She gained experience as the lead singer of the house band at Long Beach’s iconic first Friday party Fight Club for five years, a staple of the LBC music scene. Afterward, she ventured into solo songwriting.
Raw, authentic, and unapologetically herself, Jasmine brings her soulful sound to bear on hazy, melodic songs with consistently surprising hooks and profound undertones. All of her music comes from a deeply spiritual place, as part of a broader mission to share her light through moody sonic tapestries with lush pop progressions. "Every song I write is about personal experiences, written in real-time," she explains. "I draw melodies from energy and don’t compare myself to, or sound like anyone else."
Jasmine collaborates with many talented producers, with Kelsey González of the Free Nationals being the primary one and her most trusted collaborator for the past 10 years. Particularly on this project, she worked with Shayhan, Temo a.k.a Chapis, and Matty Chirch of BVRLY.
